I have always loved little babies with earrings, Joe however does not! He would rather have his girls wait until they were 27 to get their ears pierced, so we agreed before we ever had our little girls that they could get them whenever they decided they wanted it done, and could ask Daddy in a coherent, complete sentence without any prompting. I am certain Joe never expected his 2 year old to be able to do this! He finally relented after hearing Amaya beg for earrings every night, and explaining to her that having your ears pierced means letting someone poke a hole through your ear. He hoped it would scare her off but she was fine with it as long as the outcome was earrings. So he finally relented.
Here she is in the chair, excited beyond belief to finally be getting her long-awaited earrings.
Here she is getting a little nervous, watching them load the gun with the earrings. Joe kept telling her she could change her mind anytime she wanted, and he was really hoping she'd back out. I thought she might chicken out once they got the contraption on her ears, but she knows what she wants, that girl!
I think the piercing scared her more than it hurt her. She stopped crying 2 seconds after I quit recording, and went straight over to the mirror to admire her new studs. She kept touching them and saying "oh how beautiful."
Here she is today, just as happy as ever to have real earrings. She keeps touching them to make sure they are still there! Poor Daddy, his little girl is growing up so quickly!

wow she is brave! my little girl is such a coward about everything that i forget not all little girls are like that.
so i found the blog list thing just last week and it's awesome! it's still a pretty new feature i think. if you log in to the dashboard page, scroll down a bit and there's a little tutorial video that shows you about it and how to do it. it's really easy and i love not having to click into everyone's blogs to end up finding no update.
I used to want to get little Scarlett's ears pierced while she was a baby...but that video just crushed me.
Oh I love it! You are soooo lucky that she was so happy afterwards, we weren't so lucky with Kenzie.
We couldn't touch her ears (except to clean them, which was still a hassel) and she was 5! And she wouldn't let me change them, EVER!!
Then one day she was playing too hard or something, and one fell out, and started to bleed, and that freaked her out even more. It was over by then, she had lost all interest in them. I'll be lucky if she ever wants them peirced again..... I see pics of her with them in and I love it, and I try to ask her if she wants them again, and its always NO!!
Amaya looks soooo adorable, I can just hear her talking about them all day, and looking at herself in the mirror all the time! Girls are soo fun, when they want to be eh?
That Amaya is hoot. Get over here and let us take a look at them in person! Love ya.
Addie will be so jealous. She always points out little girls with earrings and says how she is older than they are and she doesn't have earrings yet. We had to have quite the discussion about how every family has different rules about getting your ear pierced. I guess her 8th birthday seems really far away.
oh darling. she is a cute lil lady! i think the piercing would scare me just because I am a wimp and can't handle little kids crying out of pain :0( it's a good thing i am having a boy! he better not be asking to have his ears pierced when he is two!
Ohh she is such a beauty! I just love that golden blonde hair and big blue eyes. Lucky girl! I'm all about waiting until they're old enough to ask - it makes me sad to see little babies pulling at their ears! My little Kaylee doesn't seem to have much interest yet... she's still a bit tomboy at heart. Maybe little Jadyn will be my girly girl!
Oh Hill, I just watched that video like 3 times. Her cry is so cute! She looks so big and beautiful! I agree with the poor Joe thing. Poor daddies!
She is such a beautiful little girl! I love the earrings. I like your rule - if you are old enough to ask, you get them. They look so cute on little girls, if I had a girl I would be very tempted to get them at a very young age too.
Amaya is just too stinkin' cute! She looks so pretty with her new earrings! (And I love the pretty, little bun you have her hair in! So cute!) Neither of my girls have asked about earrings yet. I was seven when I had mine done and Joe's sister Krista was in town visiting us. So my mom let me skip school and me, mom, and Krista went to the mall to get them done. It was a fun memory!
I love it! She is so precious. I think piercing ears was way better than any of Tatem's shots...cry a little then it's done.
what a cutie! I loved watching the video clips, and seeing her so proud of her "new look" Hill...has she discovered shoes yet?
She is so beautiful!!! I am so proud of her. Even I winced a little when I watched the video! SHe is so brace and looks so sweet!
I am so in aww. She is just so grown up. My little grls haven't ever asked. I am like Joe just waiting for them to ask me to take them. You were such a brave mommy to take her to get them done at such a young age. I would of cried when she did. She looks BEAUTIFUL with her new lobe decorations.
Believe me- the stretch marks are there. I am just not sharing them with the world. I made sure my sweet panel pants were covering them- and the ones I could hide I kindly asked my husband to photoshop goodbye. At least I can deny the reality of them through photoshop pictures!
