My youngest sibling Alicia was hit by a car today while walking in a crosswalk to school on U of U's campus. She does not remember the impact, only waking up on the ground, and being rushed to the hospital via ambulence. Luckily, the guy that hit her did stop, and give his information.
She has a broken right femur, and had a 3 or 4 hour surgery where they inserted a metal rod to fix the broken bone. With the exception of a few minor glitches, it went off well, and she is now in recovery. Her cat scans didn't show any signs of head or internal injury.
All things considered, she is doing well. It could have been so much worse, and we are thanking the Lord for watching out for her, but are continuing to pray for a swift and full recovery. And additional prayers would be greatly appreciated.
No decisions made as of yet regarding finishing the school year or not. She will be in the hospital until this weekend, and next week (luckily) is her fall break. So I'm sure she'll be deciding whether or not to finish out the semester after the week.
