Tag I'm It

8 things you may not know about Amayabelle:

1. I love, love, love to sing, although I get a little shy when I am asked to perform for people. But I sing to my mom, sister and myself all day long. Even if I have only heard a song once, I sing it the best I can, making up words to fill in for the parts I don't quite remember. (But if I'm being honest, I have a pretty amazing memory, so I always impress Mom with how much I actually get right!)

2. I am the best big sister! I haven't really had any jealousy, or adjustment issues since baby Kendal (or Grace-a-doodle, as I like to call her) has joined our family. If I have any faults in this arena, it's that I am too eager to help. My caught me changing sister's diaper when she was only three months old, and as usual, I impressed her with how well I did.

3. I am a perfectionist. I practice things in private before I am willing to show them to an audience. And I have been that way since the day I was born. Mama used to catch me in my crib trying to sit up, and crawl, and pull up long before I ever attempted it infront of her or Dad.

4. I am too smart for my own good (according to Mom)! I speak like I'm 5, pick up on everything, never miss anything, rarely forget things (especially Mom's promises), and have an understanding of things far beyond my years. I love to have conversations. Every night when Mom puts me to bed, as she is lying next to me, I ask her what she wants to talk about. Although I usually provide the subject matter (because Mom always says whatever you want), such as horses, nursery, the park, favorite foods, favorite colors, or whatever else is on my mind.

5. I love sugar! I have gotten pretty sneaky lately, dragging a bar stool into the pantry so I can reach all the goodies mom has put up on the upper shelves. I even thank God for sugar in my prayers every single night, listing the specifics: donuts, cookies, suckers, gum, pop tarts.

6. I am as girly as they come! I love all things pink, purple, purses, shoes, makeup, outfits, shopping, talking on the phone, tea parties, and the list goes on! I have been able to strut in Mom's stilettos since I was just over a year. I hate leaving the house without having my hair done. I am very opinionated on how my hair should be done, and how Mommy's hair should be done. I love jewelry, and insist on having a bracelet at all times, and most of the time, a necklace. I am already asking Daddy to let me pierce my ears (and yes, without Mom's prompting)!

7. I am a thrill seeker! I have loved being thrown into the air, and tossed across the room onto the bed since I was tiny! And Daddy is more than happy to indulge this little obsession of mine! I love to jump! I am constantly jumping from one thing to another. My favorite is to jump from the ottoman to the couch, and with every successfull jump, I move the ottoman even further away.

8. I adore my friends! I am constantly asking about them, wanting to play with them, wondering what they are doing, etc. And I make friends everywhere I go, instantly! I don't care how old you are, if you are a boy or a girl, or what you look like! But I always have the most fun when I am with my cousins! We can run around screaming for hours and hours without ever tiring out! I wish I lived closer to them! But my best friend who never leaves my side is my dolly Delilah!

8 things you may not know about Kendal Grace:

1. I am as sweet as any baby is allowed to be. (and if you've ever spent any time with me, I guess you already know that!). I am so mellow, and easy going, just like to sit back and take it all in. I only cry when I am hungry or tired, for the most part. But when I do cry- look out! I am mad and I am going to tell everyone about it!

2. I am a tender little thing. Loud screams and noises frighten me, although I have gotten plenty used to the vacuum sound in my house! I do not love to be tossed around, although I am slowly warming up to it. I'm still not sure whether I want to laugh or cry when I'm being rough housed.

3. I already love to sing! I have the most adorable, high-pitched voice on this side of the Mississippi (and beyond!). I sing all day long. And most mornings, that is how I wake up Mommy to let her know I am hungry. If she puts it off too long, she gets the wailing cry! Afterall, I asked nicely first!

4. I love my big sister! Nobody can get a smile or laugh out of me like she can. I smile at the mere sight of her, even knowing she is probably heading over to maul my face off! I can't get enough of her.

5. I am a mommy's girl. I am starting to develop stranger (anyone not my mom) anxiety. I like most people, as long as Mommy is in view, but if she leaves the room, and I'm not comfortable with you.... here comes those wailing pipes again. (I know what I want, and I'll make sure everybody else knows too!)

6. I have super sensitive skin. Mom and Dad went through multiple formulas before finding that soy is the only thing that doesn't cause me to break out in rashes. My skin flares up like mad if my belly touches the carpet while I'm scooting about. My parents have to use hypo-allergenic everything from detergent, to shampoo, to lotion. No yummy smelling skin/hair/clothes for me!

7. I already have 4 teeth! Haven't ventured much into the solid foods area yet, what with my sensitivities. But I love puffs! I could eat those things all day!

8. I give real life, bonafide, open mouth kisses to the people I love. But they can't be coerced. I give 'em on my terms! And boy are they worth waiting for!

Could those girls get any cuter?!!!! Kendal is getting so big and she has such a different look than Amaya - they are both so stinkin' darling. Is one of those pictures with Ella (mini Brookann - wow!). Kate's skin is super sensitive also, but she has to have prescription ointments... hopefully, she and Kendal will both grown out of it. We'll be there in a few weeks and hope to play with those little babes lots!

By the way, we always love guests and would love for you to take a road trip this way!

oh Hillary what precious little girls you have. They sound like wonderful kids to keep you company. I was talking to Jared (crouch) online the other day and somehow through his blog found your blog, so hi! Looks like things are super in St. George- you are a dear for going golfing with your hubby (and enjoying it) cause I despise it! I offered to play tennis with my hubby but I don't think I hit the ball fast enough for him- I tried! Love your pics. Take care.

hello-
yes, I don't know why i torture myself daily by looking at all these blogs or whatever they may be be that are operated by women who seem to be wonder woman. seriously, do they sleep? I need to know their secret because I have plenty of creative juices flowing, but just thinking about them makes me want to nap, so I have no idea how I am going to pull them off. I guess we have to remember we are super individuals regardless of our craftiness or whatever else it is we feel we are lacking! but come on, I remember high school- and everyone loves you Hillary. you are the bell of the ball! oh, and my husband is pretty much set on the name Rowan- which is gradually growing on me.....

I laughed through all of Amaya's things....well almost, cause she is seriously the funniest girl ever! I wish I could be around her more, cause she is constant entertainment. That day at costco was hilarious....did you ever find the "sound" she was looking for?
And Kendal, she is just as cute as sweet as can be!

Hill, way too fun getting to know your little ones. So beautiful, and fun! You and Joe are such great parents, and it is obvious there is plenty of love in the McLean home. Lucky Joe... he will be serenaded by beautiful voices his whole life!

Oh they are just too cute. And you're right... our girls are very much alike! Although, I wouldn't mind a little more of Amaya's girliness rubbing off on Kaylee. I have to bribe her to do her hair! Too bad we don't live closer... those two could start their own little choir. :-) Our babies sound a lot alike too... how funny. And Kendal's tutu pics turned out great! I especially love the one with her and the flower. You took them right?

Great Job on the Blogging. Your journaling is very nicely detailed. Now that I know that I can send it in and get it printed I might put more time and effort into it:)
