Hey all... I was tipped off to this great website, thanks Ximena, called Baby Cheapskate. She is giving away 12 free bum genius cloth diapers for those who are trying to be more green. I thought I might try cloth diapers at home, not while on outings yet, just to see how it goes, and if it feels too unsanitary. That is my biggest concern. You know how I hate dirty stuff! Hey- if I win the drawing for free ones- I'll definitely give it a whirl!
She also lists the cheapest places to buy diapers, formula, toys, clothes and a bunch of other baby-related items, so check it out. There are usually printable coupons as well. Check it out, and what do you all think about cloth diapers?
Here is the give-away entry url:

Hmmm I don't think I could ever do cloth diapers- I try to do my part in staying green (i.e. recyclable grocery bags, recycling, etc) but cloth diapers is one area that I am not going to go into. Wont I be doing enough laundry as is? And yes, it just seems dirty to me- I took care of an old lady for a year and when she pooped her pants and I had to wash her clothes in the washer it was just sick to me- I felt like I needed to sanitize the machine before I washed me and Jon's clothes! SOOOO I am a no go on cloth diapers. But thanks for the other website info!
hahaha! that was my biggest concern about it. i told joe i would be doing a bleach load in between each load of wash!
Yes, there is no escaping sanitizing something because if you rinsed the diaper in the sink or tub before putting it in the wash then you have to sanitize the tub or sink! Just a lot of hassle- and I swear you will forever think your clothes stink after they have been washed in the same machine used for poo diapers.
Hillary - Thanks for all the love notes you leave on our blog page. I especially liked the one where you called me a bitch....you whore. :-) Your children are absolutely gorgeous, just like you. They definitely inherited your eyes. By the way...got your present yesterday. Love the little outfit and bracelets. She looks like a little princess in her new jewelry. I'll post some pics of her in them soon. Love ya - Wendy
Hillary, Hey I went to the "miracleblanket" website and am seriously considering a miracle blanket. I love it! I was all about wrapping Valerie up in the receiving blankets REALLY tight, and did a good job but I think these blankets will be quick and easy, with no "escaping" handsies.
Heather... you are so right. I am way too ocd for this nonsense. Oh well, it was a good thought for five seconds, right? Can that be my green contribution? It's sick, but I still hope I win! Hahaha (I know a chick who is dead set on cloths, and I will gladly pass them to her, but still enjoy the excitement of winning!)
